In August of 2009, Rick created his own Dublin, Ohio-based commercial brokerage company called Smith Realty Partners LLC.  His desire is to continue providing clients the most advanced professional level of commercial real estate services.  With more than 24 years of industry experience, Rick has leased, sold or acquired more than 4 million square feet of office, retail, industrial and warehouse space.  He has executed real estate investment transactions totaling more than $750 million, which includes land acquisitions and development. 

A graduate of The Ohio State University, Rick served as Captain of the OSU men’s basketball team in 1979.  He was awarded the John Havlicek Most Inspirational Player Award in that same year.  Continuing his affiliation with Ohio State, he served as Graduate Assistant Coach for the 1980 season and remains involved with the program as Past President of the OSU Athletic Alumni Association (Varsity “O”) and a past board member.  In addition, he served on the selection committee that chose Ohio State’s men’s basketball coach Thad Matta.

Additionally, Rick can be found serving as a basketball color analyst on Ohio News Networks Buckeye Blitz sports program, 10 TV’s Wall-to-Wall Sports and QFM 96.3 Wags & Elliott Morning Show.

Rick resides in Dublin and has three daughters, Kayleigh, Anessa and Cassady.

Conni brings more than 20 years of commercial real estate experience to Smith Realty Partners. As Vice President of Commercial Management, she takes pride in always bringing a high level of passion, drive and personal approach to helping clients succeed. That same approach benefits the City of Columbus where Conni serves as a strategic partner with Keep Columbus Beautiful, an organization dedicated to Mayor Coleman’s initiative to make the city one of the best places in the nation to live, work and raise a family.

Conni is a Certified Property Manager through the Institute of Real Estate Management, has a GREEN designation through the National Association of Realtors, and is a member of Commercial Real Estate Women, Columbus Board of Realtors and the Construction Management Association of America. Additionally, Conni helps young professionals enter the commercial real estate industry by teaching Property Management and Commercial Real Estate classes at Columbus State Community College.

Conni resides in Columbus with her two children and their families.

Jack brings over 25 years of Real Estate experience to Smith Realty Partners. Jack’s Real Estate experience starts with a foundation in Real Estate Development and Finance. With the Vantage Companies, Jack was part of a 4 person development team responsible for site acquisition, land use planning, building design, finance structure, and overall project success. Jack was tapped to lead the New Jersey division of Vantage Companies, where he was in charge of a 450 million dollar portfolio. Recently, Jack redeveloped over 300,000 square feet of turn of the century office buildings in downtown Columbus, Ohio into 170 luxury residential condominiums. Jack is also the former CEO of PCS Realty, Inc., a local Commercial Management and Leasing Company. In addition, Jack served as the Senior VP of Marketing for the Galbreath Huff Organization and was Director of Marketing in the Mid East Region for Equity Office, a Sam Zell organization. Jack has two grown sons and resides in Dublin, Ohio.

 


Jason Wesley Phillips

For more than 10 years, Jason has built a reputation among his clients as someone who believes that relationships count and that partnership is more than a word. He is a Smith Realty Partners team member with broad and successful experience in brokerage and commercial and residential development. His understanding of land acquisition and project management, as well as his personal approach to working with people, has brought immeasurable value to numerous clients and their projects. Whether it is overseeing residential and mixed-use office retail projects, the development of neighborhood communities and multi–family construction, or handling construction, documentation, and observation phases for developments, Jason’s approach and way of doing business translates into success.

Jason earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Kent State University where he focused on urban studies and planning as a way to advance his career in real estate brokerage and development. Additionally, he is an active member of the Urban Land Institute, International Council of Shopping Centers, Phoenix Valley Partnership, and National Association of Office and Industrial Properties. In his spare time, Jason enjoys golf and fly-fishing.

Prior to joining Smith Realty Partners as Vice President, Matt Byrne was a Principal with PSB Realty Advisors.  Matt has more than 25 years in diverse and complex commercial brokerage and development experience.  He has negotiated real estate transactions involving office developments, major retail development, peripheral out-lot projects, light industrial parks, land assemblage, multi-family properties, site selection and most notably development of several signature golf course communities.  In leading multi-million dollar transactions, he was involved in representation of Buyers, Sellers, Landlords and Tenants which developed his in-depth knowledge of negotiations with governmental agencies, financial institutions, construction groups and related real estate professionals.  Matt’s many career accomplishments have earned him tremendous respect and trust from his clients and amongst industry peers.

As an entrepreneur and business owner, Matt was the Principal/Owner of Links Real Estate Company, an ongoing commercial, industrial and investment brokerage business prior to starting Pickett Holstlaw Byrne Real Advisors (PHB Realty Advisors).  Matt initiated Links Real Estate Company in 1992 and simultaneously became a Principal for Bedrock Development Group.  He continues to be engaged with Bedrock, supervising a vertically integrated construction management firm.  Links was the catalyst for the acquisition and development of a number of high profile Central Ohio projects including: the Ohio University Pickerington branch campus, Battelle Memorial Institute Research and Development facility, The Scott’s Company, and Marcus Theatres.  Matt was an integral executive in the development of Arlington Falls Business Park.  Through the aforementioned projects, Matt gained a significant understanding of development of turnkey projects from their acquisitions to occupancy.

Prior to starting Links Real Estate, Matt spent 5 years as Vice President of Midwest Golf Group, a development company of signature golf courses (Nicklaus, Zoeller, Rodriguez) and master planned communities.  Matt gained invaluable real estate and financing knowledge in the assemblage of land (+500 acres) collaborating with governmental zoning and infrastructure issues, bond financing and construction management of the golf course communities.

Matt is an alumnus of The Ohio State University, College of Business, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Real Estate.  Matt has been engaged in appraising a wide range of properties as a General Appraiser for over twenty years and received numerous commendations for his community contributions.  Matt is active in coaching various youth league sports and volunteering for the school and church.

With more than twenty years in new business development and management, Bob Lockett is a Vice President with Smith Realty Partners.  Bob’s expertise uses a multi-disciplined approach to proactively respond to client needs and strategically provide the right business solution.

Bob has actively been engaged in commercial real estate transactions in excess of 25 Million dollars.  Bob excels in Tenant Representation and Landlord Representation through attention to detail, providing extended value-added services, knowledge of financing, vendor management and expertise in moving and furniture planning.  His experience has allowed him to now serve 2nd and 3rd generations of clients because of his strong, retention based business approach.

Prior to joining Smith Realty Partners, Bob was Vice President at PSB Realty Advisors.  As a business owner, Bob founded and was the Principal of Cable Solutions, Inc. for nearly fifteen years.  Bob’s   entrepreneurial spirit led a successful domestic and international voice and data business which resulted in an opportunity for him to sell his business and pursue a career in real estate.  Under Bob’s leadership, he recruited and staffed a sales and production team and led by example in forming and maintaining client and vendor relationships.

Bob provides expertise from a business owner’s perspective with his clients to provide invaluable insight for real estate strategies.  His practical experience began in his role as a Sales Manager for the Midwest Region of Triangle Cable Corporation and as the Vice President of Operations for Brics Incorporated in Columbus, Ohio.  His achievements in these roles included increasing overall corporate gross margin while managing five restaurant locations.

Bob attended The Ohio State University and received his Real Estate licensing education through Hondros College.  Bob is a member of the Columbus Board of Realtors.

N. Patrick Dwyer started his career in commercial real estate in 2001, where he began working on the Sale and Leasing of Industrial, Retail and Office properties. He then continued to expand his experience level by working on Investment, Medical and Land sale transactions. As a result, Patrick has developed a well-rounded knowledge base, so that he can offer full-service representation for all of his clients’ commercial real estate needs. In 2004, Patrick began spending the majority of his time focusing on the sale and acquisition of income-producing investment properties. Patrick has been involved in well over $125 Million in Commercial Real Estate Investment transactions. Prior to joining Smith Realty Partners, Patrick became one of the owners of the new full service commercial brokerage company, Realplex Commercial. Realplex is affiliated with Hplex Solutions, a reputable medical development, owner representative, consulting, and property management company.

His keen knowledge of the real estate business is built upon 30 years of experience in the restaurant industry, 16 of which were spent as president of Tee Jaye’s Country Place Restaurants in central Ohio where he still retains ownership. Randy has served as president of the Ohio Restaurant Association and is the past president of the Central Ohio Restaurant Association. Additionally, he served on the Governor’s Commission to rewrite the health codes for the State of Ohio.

Terence Dials is the newest addition to the incredible team at Smith Realty Partners. Like Rick Smith, Terence was a captain on The Ohio State men’s basketball team and a three-year starter. While playing for the basketball team at The Ohio State University, Terence was a member of two Big Ten conference championships, a Big Ten tournament championship, and two NCAA tournament appearances. At the end of Terence’s senior season both the media and the coaches voted him the 2005-2006 Big Ten player of the year. While at The Ohio State University, Terence played for two coaches, Jim O’Brien and Thad Matta, who stressed being of high character and having a strong work ethic both on and off the court. The life skills and lessons Terence learned while attending The Ohio State University will definitely lead to his success at Smith Realty Partners.

At The Ohio State University, Terence studied Sociology earning his Bachelors degree in the college of Arts and Sciences. The interpersonal communication skills Terence developed while studying at The Ohio State University was what caught the eye of Rick Smith and is why Terence is now a part of the Smith Realty Partners team.

Since moving to Columbus, Ohio to attend school at The Ohio State University Terence had developed life long relationships and has a strong sentiment to the Central Ohio Community.

In addition to working with Smith Realty Partners, Terence is continuing to pursue his playing career in Europe where he has enjoyed incredible success. If his professional basketball career is over, Terence has enjoyed his time playing basketball at one of the highest levels and looks forward to working hard to succeed at his new career with Smith Realty Partners.
